[OOC: I tried to send this out twice yesterday only to have hotmail eat it - both times. After speaking to the mun of Joana Loveless, its understood that her character was released from the guardhouse with a slap on the wrist - basically. This is more or less posted as formality than for anything else. A quick note of thanks to the mun of Joana Loveless for playing out the scene without causing a confrontation. Thanks to Kel-sis for joining in. It was fun, guys :) ]

Scrawled in flourished, legible handwriting, the following report is submitted to Captain Von Stahl and Commander Lanthalasa:

Frost fall 28, 473

While on duty, under the advice of Commander Lanthalasa, I paid a visit to the Black Dragon Inn to familiarize myself with the patrons, staff and establishment; as well as the district itself. At one point, approximately thirty minutes after I arrived, I noticed a young woman entering whom was walking with a limp. I didn't think too much of it until I noticed the cuts and bruises on her face and the way she carried herself, clutching her rib area.

Suspecting that she may have been the victim of domestic abuse, I casually approahed the woman, who by now had seated herself at the bar, and engaged in casual conversation. During this conversation, the woman admitted to killing two of her five older brothers; claiming it was self defense.

Not wishing to create any disturbance to those occupying the inn, and with hopes of avoiding a confrontation with the woman, I asked her to join me outside where I could better see her injuries - as the lighting in the inn wasn't enough to truly get a good look at them.

The woman accompanied me outside peacefully and as we were departing the Inn, Spellcaster Lachlan Brewer was entering. Still hoping to avoid a confrontation with the young woman, I asked Spellcaster Brewer if she would join us, which she did.

I noted the woman's injuries, which there were many, and then informed her that she was under arrest for the admitted killing of the two men she mentioned. Shackles were placed upon her wrists behind her back and Spellcaster Brewer joined myself and the young woman in proceeding to the guardhouse.

Once at the guardhouse, Spellcaster Brewer tended to the woman's injuries as I wrote up the paperwork. During this time, a few more questions were asked of the young lady. Joana Loveless, not a citizen of Arangoth, claimed that her father sent her older brothers to retrieve her and return her to the realm of which she has fled; stating that she refuses to marry a man whom her father has betrothed her to.

Miss Loveless proceeded to state that two of her older brothers attacked her and that she fought back in self-defense and its during this altercation that she killed both of her attackers.

Once everything was written down, her injuries attended, Miss Loveless was placed within a holding cell.

A few personal notes:

Miss Loveless never once resisted arrest nor did she do anything to warrant unfair or rough treatment. She appeared to be quite distraught and showed remorse in the actions that resulted in the two deaths.

A detailed sketch of Miss Loveless, showing her injuries, is included with this report.
