Unto Captain Lucius VonStahl,

It is with great urgency that I write to you concerning one of your rank. The Sargeant Kirin Arnise, of whose name I acquired by the roster in the Guardhouse by description of said person.

This night, Lorhest, Sendepenta 24, I was in the inn, trying to relax when there was an emotional scene nearby. I got up with the intention of giving the ailing girl a simple blessing to try and help to calm her. Beforehand, I did a detection spell of the purpose of finding out her mortal status, as it were. She came up red. It turned out, this woman was a vampire.

The woman's name is Aleshanee, and her friend is Vulspeth. I proceeded to do what any citizen would do and cast a spell aiming to destroy her. I am well within my rights to do so. One Arms-Recruit Marqhen was there with me, and aided me rather well, I must say.

I proceeded to cast a rather powerful Turn Undead spell, which harmed both Vulspeth and Aleshanee. The man in question, Kirin Arnise, then decided to stop it all. A man with a snake's head [Toxin] cast a Darkness spell, which I countered with Light.

However, we get to the part of which I am writing to you. Kirin Arnise thought it best to allow the two abominations to go away free. He granted them amnesty in the name of his god, rather than doing what is right by the law. I am a chosen of Kelemvor, a Doom Guide, one sworn to destroy the undead at all costs. This man kept me from doing that, allowing Vulspeth to carry Aleshanee away because she was a child.

I am enraged by this action.

I request that this man receive a grave punishment. It would be ideal if he were stripped of his office and removed from your ranks as he is clearly incapable of upholding the laws of this city. He opted for a banishment, which was not within his rights as a guard, nor in the rights of the vampires, as they have none. Because he allowed them to leave, he allowed them to continue feeding and I feel very strongly that this is not what the Guard is there for.

Is there a basis in the claims of the Guard being lenient? Being only around when it is convenient for them? I would like to think not, but if this man, this Kirin Arnise, is allowed to continue on this path, it will only bring discontent among the masses and disrespect and ridicule to the Guard.

Myself and the Arms-Recruit Marqhen have signed this.

As a note, this is not to say that the Arms-Recruit agrees with my request, only that he was there at the time.

Menxvan light your way,
Cormllenaa
