[Royal Guard] Incident Report by Davien

Scribe's note: Here follows a rough transcription of the testimony of 
Arms-Recruit Davien Corbrey.  Much of his report has been translated into 
less colloquial language, more suited to a legal document such as this.  I 
would humbly submit that a little literary education for Arms-Recruit 
Corbrey might improve the quality of his future reports, and also save a 
considerable amount of time for the Scribes involved.

'On this day, in the early evening I stopped off at the Black Dragon inn.  I 
was observing a conversation between individuals identified by witness 
testimony as Vaetsiil and Xanthe (descriptions, roughly accurate to the 
names given, are appended to the report).  Vaetsiil requested that Xanthe 
drop his weapon.  At this point, a bird spoke to Xanthe, urging him not to 
do so. Vaetsiil then assaulted Xanthe with an axe with clear intent to 
seriously injure or kill; Xanthe defended himself with the weapon he had 
drawn in preparation to drop it or surrender it to Vaetsiil, but did not 
visibly attempt a return blow.'

'I ordered the combatants to stop, which they did; the aggressor, Vaetsiil, 
fled in the company of a young lady, just over 5' high, with brown hair, 
blue eyes, very pale skin and wearing a black cloak.'

'Xanthe and the bird, who claimed to be a magically transformed human named 
Hitei, testified that Vaetsiil had used threats concerning Hitei's soul to 
force him to drink a potion, the result of which was Hitei's transformation 
into the shape of a bird.  Xanthe also testified that he had approached 
Vaetsiil regarding procuring an antidote for what had been done to Hitei, 
and that Vaetsiil had responded to this with the treachery and violence that 
I witnessed.  Xanthe and Hitei have agreed to make themselves available to 
give testimony, should the Courts require it.'

'In short: I directly witnessed Vaetsiil assaulting Xanthe with a deadly 
weapon; Vaetsiil is also accused of threatening behaviour and assault by 
magic upon Hitei by the testimonies of Xanthe and Hitei.'
