[Royal Guard] Ety Woods arrest and punishment

Unto Captain VonStahl and all Guards, the following report is Verbatim of the happenings on CandleNight pertaining to the Arrest of one Ety Woods and her trial and punishment that was handed down by Magistrate Segovax.

[21:30] * NicoleKain walks into the door, grins as she pushed back some of her red hair from her face. wearing a black corset with red ribbon laced up the front, black leather pants and knee high boots. pushing away from the door, weaving in and out of tables and patrons. heading right up to the bar, sliped down to sit on the bar stool. orders a drink waitting for her drink, turns her green eyes to look around next-> 
[21:30] <NicoleKain> cont->  slowly.  <-end
[21:32] * Ety`Woods slowly leaned off of the front wall and began walking towards the bar after Nicole. The woman would stop just short of the counter, however, standing back some distance while studying the selection of bourbon with her eyes.
[21:32] * ChasingFire half eyes Ety, but makes his way towards Baldi for now no less..
[21:38] * Ety`Woods steps forward from behind Nicole, drawing her left elbow in to jab the woman in the side of her head. The attempted blow was meant to stun her quickly while her free right hand shot into her pocket to grasp onto whatever valuables or contents would be found there.
[21:40] * Jenneane got up quietly from her place by the hearthfire.... She was thirsty again.... And so, behind Ety, she stood after coming to a stop....
[21:40] * Baldisar seeing this stands and approaches Ety and he attempts to restrain her "here now what is this about?"
[21:40] * NicoleKain blinked as she was struck by suprise. rubs the side of her head turning to look at the women, what she might find in her pocket would be toy made of wood in the shape of a spider. shakes her head as she grins, still blinking her eyes a few times. "dang what did i do?"
[21:40] * Jenneane sidesteps out of the way and takes up a stool at the bar again....
[21:42] <ChasingFire> "She's tha resident lowlife theif, Baldi, tha's what she does."
[21:43] * Ety`Woods doesn't even examine what she withdraws from the woman's pocket. The woman simply backsteps as quickly as she can to put distance between herself and Nicole, only to walk right into Baldisar who immeidately goes to restrain her. Ety, unsuspecting and outright surprised by the sudden grasp, immiedately flings her head backwards, trying to catch the guard in the face with her skull as she jerks violently, trying to get
[21:43] <Ety`Woods> <cut> trying to get free.
[21:43] * Aerlisa blinks and looks over at Ety and Nicole, shaking her head in disgust. "That was probably the clumsiest pickpocketing I've ever seen," she comments, apparently looking down not upon the act itself, but the way it was carried out.
[21:43] * Baldisar looks to Luc as he still holds Ety "well not tonight, I'll have to either take her in unless the Lady here has no objection to letting her loose with a warning and return of anything taken"
[21:44] * Baldisar moves his head though her skull catches the side of his head he keeps hold
[21:46] <Baldisar> "now that hurt little lady" he turns to Nicole "so what do you say? we cut her loose if she returns any items taken or do I need to arrest her?"
[21:46] <ChasingFire> "Ya take 'er in she'll jus' do it again so soon as she gets out.. She tried ta beat one o' m'mates to death 'cause she's got it figa'd that bein' arrested means free room an' board.. Ah say lynch her, an' let 'er have free room an' board in hell."
[21:46] * Ety`Woods grunts after her skull bounces right off the side of his, causing her to wince some as she continually jerks violently.
[21:47] * NicoleKain turns looking at the women and man, rubs her head again it didnt hurt much but dang. "why pick my pockets?" shakes her "looked at the girl then back to the man "well.." she didnt know "if she promised not to do it again..let her go but if not then take her in" thinks again as she rubs her head "but maybe you should take her in i have a feeling she will do it again to someone else"
[21:51] * Ety`Woods seemed unresponsive, having continued the jerking while Nicole had been speaking to the guard the entire time. Having the question posed to her formally by the guard, the woman would settle down for just a moment before jumping up, throwing her feet forward to push into the edge of the counter, then push off of it and back into the guard in an attempt to throw both of them back.
[21:53] * NicoleKain makes a note to herself to hide her money some place else on her body, that way no one could find it. green eyes watching the man and the lady pick pocket, seeing this she could only guess that was a no.
[21:53] * Baldisar releases the young woman as she does this but while she is in the air his eyes glow red and he casts a levatation spell hopefully causing the woman to float harmlessly
[21:54] * Ety`Woods floated across the room.
[21:55] * ChasingFire watches Ety float, and refrains the urge to use her as a kickball..
[21:57] * Baldisar grabs Ety bringing her to a stop but with her still floating in place so she can't hit anyone or move "so you promise no more theft? Otherwise I have to take you in and you will not see a magistrate till morning"
[21:59] * NicoleKain turns looking at Bald "seems that one is fisty" laughs as she picks up her glass taing a few sips then replaced it back down on the table. "seems to me she is not wishing to behave herselfat all" shakes her head slowly as she grins
[21:59] * Ety`Woods simply remained suspended in air, giving no physical or verbal response for the time being. The woman just relaxed her struggle while in mid-air to the point where she simply came to a full stop.
[22:04] <Baldisar> ok if you don't want to cooperate then I guess I'll run ya in, first we'll search you to see what you took from the lady
[22:05] <ChasingFire> "Watch 'er now Baldi, she aint eva safe..."
[22:06] * Baldisar takes out his manacles and cuffes her hands behind her back as she floats there and proceeds to attempt to find any pouches she has
[22:06] * NicoleKain she was getting a slight headach from where she got boinked, man next time she will have to watch more carefully. green eyes shifted over to the other that spoke "she is dangerouse?" blinked her eyes quickly as her head lowers then looked back up with a tilt, red hair brushed over her bare shoulders.
[22:06] * Ety`Woods dropped the wooden object that she had removed from Nicole's pocket. Assuming it wouldn't levitate, the toy would simply drop to the floor below. Nothing else can be found on her.
[22:07] * Baldisar notes the toy and looks to nicole "is that what she took?"
[22:09] * NicoleKain nods her head "yes that is all" but the wooden spider had onyx eyes. a gift for a neice back in her old lands. but she could get more "if she wanted it, she could have it. she didnt have to pick my pocket for it?"
[22:10] * Baldisar allows the girl to the ground holding her by the cuffed arm and leads her out the door to the guard house
[22:12] * NicoleKain watched Bal lead the girl off, shakes her head slowly then picks up her drink again. "i wonder what they are going to do with her?" she said out loudly, wonders if anyone might hear her voice and give an answer but if not she would talk to Bal on it.
[22:14] <ChasingFire> "Probabla whip 'er ah good one an' let 'er back ta her ways.."
[22:15] * NicoleKain she stands and heads out behind them
[22:15] <Baldisar> a courier enters out of breath and scans the room he walks to NicoleKain and says 1M'lady would you come with me
[22:08] * Now talking in #Guardhouse
[22:09] * Ety`Woods has joined #Guardhouse
[22:11] * Baldisar enters the guardhouse leading Ety in manacles
[22:11] * Ety`Woods is led it without incident.
[22:13] * Baldisar notes Segovax and nods to the magistrate "I'm glad you are actually here magistrate, I just arrested this young Lady here attempting to pick another ladies pocket"
[22:13] * Segovax awaited them, already seated wherever the judgements took place because I've forgotten where exactly ANYWAYS with a stick of coal and parchment to record the proceedings himself. He had the look and countenance of an unfriendly school master, all sharp and on in years. He was flanked by a bored-looking armsman.
[22:14] * NicoleKain has joined #Guardhouse
[22:15] * Ety`Woods looked to the magistrate as she stood before him, her hands still bound behind her back.
[22:15] * NicoleKain slips in to hear what was going to happen.
[22:15] <Baldisar> the courier lead Nicole into the room
[22:17] * NicoleKain looked over to Bal then back to Ety, shakes her head as she watched on. "whats going to happen?" she asked quietly
[22:17] <Baldisar> Magistrate Segovax the young lady I have bound here, in the inn a moment ago attemped to pick the pocket of the Lady that just entered by hitting her in the head and lifting items from her person
[22:17] * Baldisar looks to Nicole "that is up to the magistrate here"
[22:18] <Segovax> "Mm. I see." The severe-looking magistrate made a note on his parchment. He held up a hand; on it was a ring adorned by a blue stone. "This," he told Ety, "Will let me know if you are lying. Now, please, tell me your name, and give your story. I will then pass judgement--please keep quiet, Tespin," he told Nicole sharply.
[22:19] * Ety`Woods didn't turn to acknowledge Nicole's presence or even glance at Baldisar as he spoke. Simply remained visual with the magistrate befoer her. "Ety Woods." She would answer, her voice hoarse. "It occured as he said." Ety would also add.
[22:21] * Baldisar remains silent as ety talks to the magistrate
[22:21] * NicoleKain nods her head slowly as she placed her hands in front of her. steps over to take the stone from the magisrrate, looked at the stone then back up "my name is Nicole Kain, on what happened was i was sitting at the bar drinking my whiskey sour, then for some reason im struck." turns looking over to Ety then back to him "by that lady over there" pointed over to Ety "then this man" motions to Bal next-> 
[22:21] <NicoleKain> cont->  " was trying to retrain her, asked me if i would have her locked up to relised. at first i wanted her relised if she proomised not to do it again. she tried to get away, so he froze her to check her pockets"  <-end
[22:22] * Baldisar looks to the magistrate, from what I have heard from other guards this is not the first time she has been arrested and warned about this behavior your honor
[22:23] <Baldisar> I am Spellsman Baldisar Kaliste, for the record your honor
[22:27] <Segovax> The man in the black robes nodded once, made a few more notes. "I know who you are, Spellsman Kaliste," 6he said, offhand. "Hm. Your honesty, Tespin Woods, does you some credit in this case but if this this is, as the Spellsman says, one among many offences, I am afraid I cannot be so lenient in your punishment." More notes. "Spellsman, please have her flogged, ten lashes, and see that her hand is branded to mark her as a
[22:27] <Segovax> --and see that her hand is branded to mark her as a thief. And then a public apology to Tespin Kain, here, should set things in order."
[22:28] <Baldisar> yes your honour I will see to it immediatly
[22:29] <Segovax> "Oh, and Spellsman?"
[22:29] <Baldisar> yes your honour?
[22:29] * NicoleKain green eyes looked back and forth between them, this was the first time she had to go to court. bitting on her lower lip, looked over to Ety then back to the men. holds up her hand to give back the stone in silence.
[22:30] <Segovax> "Next time, chop her hand off." Letting that hang in the air, the magistrate rose from his chair and turned to leave, the still bored looking armsman following in his wake.
[22:31] * Ety`Woods looked down to the floor, almost in frustration and disappointment to learn that she was to be punished without time, or a meal, in custody first. Nevertheless, she would say and do nothing other.
[22:31] * NicoleKain looks back over to Bal "i guess i am no longer needed here?"
[22:32] <Baldisar> well that's that tespin woods if you would sit on the bench there for a moment 6if she does he will bind her hands to the wall using a chain between the manacles and the wall
[22:32] * Baldisar looks to Nicole "no you are free to go"
[22:32] * NicoleKain nods as she turns walking out the door.
[22:33] * Ety`Woods slowly takes a seat, leaning her head back and closing her eyes as she does so.
[22:34] * Segovax has left #guardhouse (This has been the People's Court. Court is adjourned.)
[22:34] * Baldisar walks to a cabinet and returns with a rather nasty looking flog and a brand that he places in the hearth to begin heating, he then releases the chain between the manacles and the wall and says "tespin woods please rise and move to the center of the room"
[22:35] <Baldisar> as she does this he places a stool with no back on it there "please take a seat on the stool"
[22:35] * Ety`Woods rises to her feet and does as she is instructed, opening her eyes in order to navigate herself to the center before stopping there and standing. Her eyes glaze over as she stares forward.
[22:36] <Baldisar> would you rather stand or sit on the stool?
[22:37] <Baldisar> or kneel
[22:37] * Ety`Woods slowly dipped down to one knee, then slid the other down. That being her answer, the woman continued to face forward without further response.
[22:39] * Baldisar proceeds to lash her 10 times as per the magistrates orders, he then gets the brand and releases the manacles "please hold out your right hand or place it on the stool"
[22:41] * Ety`Woods buries her head within her right shoulder as she's lashed. The woman would take some time before slowly bringing her right hand, shaking almostly uncontrolablly, as she too was, and placed it upon the stool. Her eyes still closed, the woman's head remained against her right shoulder.
[22:43] * Baldisar places the hot brand on her hand for several seconds to mark her as a theif then returns the brand to a stand to cool "tespin woods, I'm sorry I had to do this, you are free to go as soon as you can recover your composure, do not forget the magistrates warning, next time I am required to remove the hand"
[22:46] * Ety`Woods lifted her head enough to bite down on her shoulder when the brand was applied. Her eyes closed tighter as the skin immeidately blistered from the heat. When it was taken away, she would simply remain in this position for some time until her muscles stopped shaking and she was able to stop biting down on her shoulder. As she slowly gathered herself once again, she would give a simple nod in response to Baldisar, her eye
[22:46] <Ety`Woods> <cut> Baldisar, her eyes still closed.
[22:46] <Ety`Woods> "Would you help lead me out of this place?"  She would ask, her voice still hoarse.
[22:47] <Baldisar> I can do that where would you like to go?
[22:48] <Ety`Woods> "Just outside, I can gather myself enough there to find my way home."  Her eyes would open some at this point as she rose to her feet.
[22:49] * Baldisar helps her to her feet and leads her out to the sidewalk "you sure you are all right from here?"
[22:49] <Ryal> And to let you know, that brand cannot be magically healed.  It's forever.
[22:50] * Ety`Woods is led outside onto the street, shaking her head as she slowly begins walking eastward. Her right hand is held firmly under her left shoudler and her back is slightly hunched forward from the flogging.
[22:50] * Baldisar returns to the guardhouse to file his report
