Dearest and most esteemed fellow guardsmen.

I write you this letter to explain my actions in response to the accusations
made by one Cormllenaa. Priest of what so ever deity is so zealous as to let
his or her favored to strike out violently first and ask questions later, or
indeed ask no questions at all. This night in the Black Dragon Inn, I came
off patrol to relax as par usual. Only to find a fellow guardsman, entangled
in a situation. Marqhen is a responsible and admirable arms-recruit. Though
I have only the authority to recommend promotion, I would strongly advise
approval however this is not why I write. Instead it is because I did as my
duty entails, I took command of the situation and halted both parties from
destroying the inside of the good tavern. From what I have witnessed as well
as what others have told me of the nights events those who are accused of
undead did nothing illegal, despite the fact that they existed.
In response to the accusation that I acted upon the will of Tyr... I did no
such thing, nor will I branded a zealot! I acted upon judgement of the
situation, which is well within my office.
In the end and upon investigation, with blood as a sample... The shielded
young that was held as undead... is no such thing, it is instead a half
drow, however the creature holding it was an undead... Rather than let them
both be destroyed and a tavern gutted... again... it was wisest to let them
leave, to give them impromptu banishment as a form of mercy since no other
would do so. I justify my actions as not saving the lives of a drow and
undead, but in keeping the cival peace and stopping an all too eager
individual from getting a sought after kill in the public domain. It is the
guard who shall dispense justice in this city, no priests, not even I acting
as a priest shall use my lords name to justify an act of violence!
If it is the will of the magistratum, I shall resign my rank and title. And
shall impose upon myself a just punishment of banishment, where mercy has
put me. I will sit on my hands no longer, I sought to help the people of
Drache and the city itself. I will take my leave of this place, then and
bring light where there is only dark.
I should hope that this is not a final report, but I will respect the will
of the city.
Honored reader, I thank you for your time.

Sergeant Kirin Arnise
