Bulletins from the Royal Chancellery: 11. XI. 476

On this date one Isaiah Dorma, a man born within the borders of the Kingdom
but renouncing all claims of citizenship, was found guilty of murder of a
citizen of Arangoth, attempted murder of citizens of Arangoth, assault with
intent to harm a member of the Royal Guard and many other small counts of
assault.

The accused was questioned and admitted that this was a planned act and that
he had planned to continue, and so the sentence is death. The subject did
not admit to having accomplices. The testimony of a member of the royal
guard, one Lieutenant Lay`Trayin ChasingFire, was admitted into the record.

The sentence is determined to be carried out two days from the date of the
trial, that being 13. XI. 476, in a private setting.

The Honourable Julius ul-Arduin Malbraxa presided.

This night while at the Black Dragon Inn I witnessed one woman <desc of
AeronKtrenna> stab a man <desc of Viktor_Dalmac> with a dagger. I followed
the woman out of then inn as she seemed to not hear me when I stated she was
under arrest. I tried to use a freeze spell on the woman and her beast but
it was to no avail and she got away. I wish to have her added to the wanted
list for assault and escape from the Royal Guard.

Subject: [Royal Guard] Guard poisoned

Last night as I entered the Black Dragon Inn I was approached by a young
woman named Katra who was asked to deliver a letter to me. After
ascertaining the description of who gave her the letter <desc of Ubayyid> I
proceeded to get coffee and open the letter. There was no writing but a fine
powder was on the paper and I happened to inhale some of it. It was a fine
poison that luckily enough did nothing more than make me ill. I ask that a
warrant be put out for the man for the attempted murder of a Royal Guard.
After having done some research it is known to me that this man is one of
the higher ups in the Menxrukian Cult.

This report is drafted from the journal entries and notes taken during a 
period of questioning with one Inayat Dastych. Know first that she was under 
no forced or imposed circumstance to partake in these questions on an 
official basis. Previously that night I was attacked by a poison letter same 
as Lt. Trayin the night prior, this is before the warning had been issued of 
the dangers of random packages. It should be noted that this is the work of 
the local Menxrukian Cult which over the course of the discussion I had with 
Inayat I've discovered potential names and locations. This is subject to 
theory and I ask permission to push forward with a full blown investigation, 
either official or unofficial. I took it upon myself to ask Inayat who is a 
Menxrukian cultist if she would answer questions designed to help aid in 
rooting out this cult in our fair city. She could have refused in which case 
nothing more would have been said and she stands in no way accused of any 
further crimes except those she's committed which corrective action has 
already been taken. Using a discern lies spell I found her innocent in any 
wrong doing involved with these renewed attacks on guardsmen, she did 
however enlighten me as to why the guard is being targetted. It is simply 
because guards are guards and to destabelize the government the local law 
has to be weakened.
The interview went well and was voluntary, I report this as a means to aid 
in my request for immediate and official action to be taken.

This report is to detail the events of the past evening in which an attempt 
on my life was made by one Ubayyid, a cultist of Menxruk. While off duty and 
sitting in the inn to relax and unwind after a long days patrol I was 
confronted by a man who held a letter addressed to me and said i should open 
it in a private location. Thinking little of it I proceeded to open it 
because I thought it harmless enough and the warning by Lt. Trayin had yet 
to hit the office boards, I was engulfed in a toxic white powder. Thankfully 
its effects are slow to manifest and immediately after opening it I sprung 
to action, giving chase to Ubayyid. Following him past the market district I 
finally cornered him down a dark ally when Lt. Trayin on patrol appeared as 
it was her area of patrol and she happened to be passing by. Rather than 
confront us honorably or be arrested he used a powerful spell to commit 
suicide for his deity. The body has been recovered and no information or 
identification found on him. These attacks by this Menxrukian Cult is 
getting out of hand and from this encounter I learned there numbers are at 
least 20 strong within the city itself. I formally request official action 
or permission to persue unofficial investigative action to discern a 
weakness within its structure.. I fear that this is a cult with multiple 
heads and a self sustaining body, so cutting off a head will do little other 
than fan the fire.

On this very dreary day a man named Iwoola came to me while on patrol and 
told me of an attempted murder along the docks, it turned out he was the 
appearant victem and the would be assassin happened to not be a very good 
shot with bow and arrow, surely not fit for competition in the arena. Upon 
investigation no assailent can be found at this time and I will make it a 
point to submit my evidence in the guardhouse with this report for review 
however there is no further information. This is a typical case of attempted 
murder within the city and like so many with so few clues it is nigh 
impossible to solve without attaching a tail to follow Iwoola, but he is 
confident that it will not be a necissity, I would volunteer myself as an 
extra duty but if he is so secure with himself then I see no reason to 
expend city resources on him, however we should be vigilent as there has 
been an increase of standard violent crimes as of late.

It has come to my attention from speaking with both Sean McMillin and 
Bal`xcotl that a common patron of the Inn and citizen of the city that Lady 
Jenneane may in fact be of demonic origin, if this is true she has at the 
very least kept her identity secret and more over has been less than 
molevolant. She should however be watched or possibly questioned, if nothing 
else to clear up a misunderstanding as it could be the interpretation of 
Sean that her aggressive and eccentric actions may seem like a "she demon" 
instead of the actual thing. Also there is distinctly and quite definately a 
Marilith type Tan`ari (demon) lurking our city. The six armed monstrosity 
poses a red headed human female named Tonksuenna who dresses quite elegantly 
but is in fact blood thirsty and very very dangerous. Caution should be 
exercised around her as a Marilith is a deadly opponent, six arms and the 
ability to weild weapons in each makes for a bad day for any would be hero.

On this date one Inayat Dastych, a foreigner, was found guilty of sedition
and obstruction of justice. From many witness accounts she has been heard to
denounce and threaten the crown of Arangoth. She has threatened the family
and well-being of one witness to these crimes, Floxod Ravynetti Tivuard.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.

There are currently two other charges with have yet to be resolved, due to
the nature of an ongoing investigation into the matters of the cult. These
charges are conspiracy to commit sedition and conspiracy to high treason.
They will need to be addressed once the investigation is brought to a close.

The punishment determined is to be imprisonment until such a time as the
case can be reviewed, whether in light of new evidence or the aforementioned
investigation ends.

It is suggested that the accused will be willing to assist the guard in any
matters upon questioning. It is believed that she will, if required, help to
lead the guard to persons involved.

The punishment will be enacted immediately from the date of this report.

Greetings,

I would first like to introduce myself. I am Julius ul-Arduin Malbraxa,
recently appointed as magistrate, and recent too to this city and what goes
on within. I would like to note that I hold nothing but respect for you and
your command and, coming from the Border Watch myself, I understand to a
point the difficulties that you all face on a daily basis.

The point of this correspondence is, however, quite dire and so I must
proceed straight to the point. I have recently been involved in two trials,
both of which are connected via a common theme. Both of the accused have had
contact or been involved with a Cult whose purpose as far as I can divine is
to spread chaos and disorder, with the ultimate goal of the destabilisation
and destruction of the throne of this kingdom.

These are quite serious accusations, I am aware, and in fact one of the
accused (A Isaiah Dormah) was put to death one week ago for treason. There
remains one (Inayat Dastych) in custody and serving out her punishment, that
being imprisonment till review or the matter is brought to a close.

It is here that I would now like to request that an official inquiry into
the matter be launched as soon as possible. I would request that all who
were involved, guard and citizen or foreigner alike, be questioned. This
matter is, to me, a very dangerous situation that must be rectified and
brought to a close before more acts against the kingdom are perpetrated.

I would note that the accused still in custody appears quite willing to
assist the guard in any manner, and that if so I would like an official
report on it delivered to the chancellory, to assist with our review of her
charges.

If you have any questions, I would be more than willing to answer them
whether by correspondence such as this or a face to face meeting.

Last night as I entered the Black Dragon In I received a message with my
usual mail from the Menxrukians that they had kidnapped my child Kenseth.
The request the non participation of the Guard and wish to exchange my son
for Inayat Who is being held in the cells of the guardhouse. I will not
trade for my son but will endeavour to get him back by other means without
use of the Guard tho I highly recommend that a sting be put in place to
arrest as many of these cultists as possible as soon as possible before they
do harm to anyone else in the guard or chancellory.
