Unto Captain Lucius von Stahl,

It is with great contrition I take up my pen and draft unto your office
this complaint pertaining to one Arms-Corporal in the ranks of our Royal
Guard, Merin Bithsbane, in specific regards to an altercation having
occurred in the Black Dragon Inn last night, on the thirtieth day of
Sarmatgentat. At the toll of the third night bell or perhaps somewhat
hence, having chanced to overhear unsavory words between the guard of prior
mention and one tespin, Aeron Ktrenna, understood to hold the title of
Floxod in the land of Arangoth; and having judged it unseemly indeed for
one of the Ranks to so threaten with death a member of the gentry; and
believing further and forthwith that such conduct so taints the public
impression of the Royal Guard, about which much corruption is already
unfortunately rumored; I, Liadhan ul-Artemisia Albesce, holding in the
Guard the rank of Sergeant and the office of Senior Healer, approached the
Corporal and suggested he desist. The Corporal suggested my auditory acuity
of super-human nature (which, I confess, is true), for his voice had been
low in threatening the Floxod thus. This Guard begs exception for having
overheard perhaps what she ought not to, but submits this complaint all the
same; first, as such conversation transpired in a public pub, and, further,
one known to traffic in citizens of all sorts of extra-sensory perception;
and second, perhaps more importantly, in that the Corporal thereafter made
every effort to physically and verbally intimidate myself, in words and in
body language casting aspersions upon my apparent youth, my height, the
desperation of the Guard in so posting such a "miscreant" to my assignment,
and the corruption of the Royal Guard so demonstrated in having affronted
himself; and lent no credence or respect to either my post or my rank.

One believes Corporal Merin Bithsbane a deplorable example of the Royal
Guard's public face, but cannot suppose to suggest the proper course of
action. I leave this issue, and the choice as to act upon or to dismiss it,
humbly at your office.

Me exenim,

Liadhan ul-Artemisia Albesce
Guardhouse Infirmary Senior Healer
and Sergeant of the Royal Guard in Drache
