Furthermore, a crown edict will be posted for no less than sixty days detailing the crimes committed, and the accused will be made to make a public apology to the estate of the deceased. The punishment will be enacted immediately from the date of this report. The Honourable Julius ul-Arduin Malbraxa presided. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... He was promptly placed under arrest and led to the Guardhouse without major incident. A woman accompanying him by the given name of, "Black Orchid," later made numerous verbal objections to the detention, claiming that the man I arrested in front of her was not Natrias. I explained the protocol to her of how he would be processed and identified and she seemed to cooperate, as did the man. I would like to state in this record that the man not only fits the written description of this individual as given by Magistrate Dabalbire, but appears to be the same man I questioned earlier last month in person about his involvement in the very same allegations that were brought to my attention by another citizen. He is currently being held at the Guardhouse and is awaiting trial/identification. ~Signed, Idelle Sarault, Arms-Sergeant of the BlkDragon District. --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! The eruption, while quite devastating to those in the immediate range of it's blast, didn't appear to critically injure any of the patrons in the Inn at the time, who were fairly scattered about. After the fire quickly died out and the flaming debris settled, I attempted to approach several patrons about who had been seen at the bar just moments before the explosion. I only managed to question an individual by the name of Rowen and another [description of Grafsburg] before yet another loud explosion could be heard from one of the rooms. I escorted a staff member of the Inn upstairs to open up the room for me, where I found the human remains of what was once a person. Though it was fairly dark and hard to really examine initially, the bodily remains appeared to belong to a male of an unknown description. The source of the second explosion could not be determined through my preliminary findings. Upon questioning each of the staff members, I was informed that the man who had exploded upstairs was the same individual that was last seen at the bar where the unknown parcel had been left on the floor at. The motives are completely unknown and the choice of suicide within one of the rooms, with no victims, seems fairly suspect in the wake of an attack designed to kill and maim a good many. My first inclination was that this may have been the work of Menxrukian terrorists, but there is no evidence at this point to suggest what motive or who, specifically, had been behind the obvious attack. I have collected some of the remains of the man who was destroyed within his room at the BlkDragon and brought them back to the Guardhouse for analysis and an attempted identification. I will be following up with an additional report if anything is found through this procedure. Pending those findings, the list of additional suspects or accomplices, if any, remains at zero. With a rough sketch of the man's face, I made the rounds at Merchant's Square and put the drawing into circulation to see if anyone could identify him more readily. While much of the day yielded nothing in terms of finding any surviving family or close friends, several merchants had been able to tell me vague details about him. Such included that he was something of a loner, though could be found in the taverns from time to time. It was suggested he was both unemployed and in financial turmoil, as he was in steep debt to several businessmen. The individual was not described as religious by any means or someone who may be construed as a dissenter. These findings do not lend to any new leads, but only establish that this was a completely random act of violence with no apparent motive at all, or it was perpetrated by another party to the crime and this man was merely a platform of delivery. The statements gathered today paint a picture of a troubled and desperate man who may have wished to go out with a bang, but holes remain. Where he got the explosive materials, how he knew to mix them into a deadly concoction, and how he could afford/acquire said alchemical materials remains unknown. Any further information or leads on this case will be followed up on in additional reports. On a separate note, I received a letter on my desk today with the daily mail allegedly written by Natrias Hellfire. The note expressed his desire to meet with me, likely in regards to the charges he currently faces. I may attempt to establish contact with him, hopefully in aim of convincing him to turn himself in if I am unable, for whatever reason, to make an apprehension. The arrangements of the meeting are that both parties come alone, unarmed, and meet in a public place. This will occur when I am off-duty and I will not have on my person any insignia of the Royal Guard or my badge. If for whatever reason I am to disappear or receive critical injuries after I have signed out at the Guardhouse tomorrow night, then it should be made immediately clear that the prime suspects are to include Natrias Hellfire, his intermediary, Jinsatsu Kuronu, and his brother, Kale Hellfire. I fully understand the risks of this arrangement, especially given the allegations Natrias faces. However, I am fairly confident that this situation can produce a peaceful conclusion and that this individual doesn't have any interest in further chalking up more severe charges and legal consequences. I found him to be pleasant enough and healed him of wounds he received on the road into Drache, why he came to the BlkDragon Inn and not to an apothecary or the Royal Church is beyond me, but I saw to his wounds being healed. When completed with healing the individual I looked across the tavern and saw a woman I had met the night before who was in the process of trying to murder their child by means of smuthering. I intervened, it turned out to be a Tivaurd, with her sister Rose Tivaurd also present. Rose Tivaurd only made the situation worse by not stopping the baby from being harmed but by encouraging harm be done to the girl Love who was the appearant care taker of the child. I ordered the girl to unhand the baby and after a few hostile exchanges of words she threw the baby at my person. I was able to catch the child unfortunately my armor is less than soft, I made to arrest her and handed the baby off to the good Senkessa Rinthad. In my attempts to arrest Love she was quite suddenly struck with a fatal blow by a sword that happened to be owned by Rose Tivaurd. This was a completely unnecessary move, in fact she was encouraging the girl, Love be killed by me and was upset when instead of attempting to hurt her i merely tried to arrest her. She screamed things about Tivaurds never to be taken alive. A bystander at this time threw a case at Rose which staggered her and allowed me the opening to attempt to pin and arrest her, however she fell on her own sword and was left with a fatal wound. I managed to cuff her but the damage was practically done before I realized she had even fell upon her own weapon. A third Tivaurd made itself known at this time, one who's name I know not (description of Celestine follows, including sketch) This Tivaurd tried to stealthily remove the corpse of Love, with little effort I thwarted this. It was then that the fourth and final Tivaurd of the night appeared as a scried aparition, Ravynetti Tivaurd himself. He asked that I turn over the bodies, of course the bodies could be turned over once the investigation was complete and writs of ownership provided. I respect the title and position that Ravynetti holds however he is both known to be and admitted to be undead and a necromancer of great repute. I would be negligent in my duty if I had turned over the bodies to him. It would be unwise to relinquish them to Ravynetti Tivaurd or any of that particular clan, we would likely see them walking again without sanctioned resurrection techniques and would be forced to either put them down or deal with the fact that Love tried to murder a baby and Rose murdered Love. Neither case would result in simply being slapped on the wrist and released. The girl Love spoke harshly about the baby, which is now in guard custody. The baby was to be some sort of weapon or tool used by Ravynetti and should be thusly denied to him if he should attempt to claim it. I have performed divinations to discern parentage and have documentation with the baby. Should someone come to claim it they will need to submit a blood sample for divination or writs of legal guardianship to take the child from state custody. The events of this night are regretable that two lives are lost and one baby is now orphaned, however responsibility of action must not be denied, Love attempted to take the life of a baby and as a result she was murdered by her sister Rose. Rose simply put, attempted and succeeded in murdering Love when she was well under control and about to be apprehended by the Royal Guard. Should the good Magistratum decide it proper to relinquish the bodies to Ravynetti Tivaurd they shall have no protest from me, I am but a humble servant of the law. As I neared, I became aware of being watched. Normally, this would not be a feeling that caused some alarm, afterall, members of the Royal Guard are frequently watched from the shadows. But I fear that after the previous incident in the Inn, in which a demonically possessed man endeavored to assassinate me from behind, I've become slightly paranoid about the feeling. As it turns out, it is something of a good thing that I have become so. As I stopped, trying to discern the reason for the feeling of being watched, I heard what intially sounded like distorted voices, three of them, followed by the shifting of large, heavy paws. While I was in the process of investigating the matter, Armswoman Vona Urgarth approached and inquired to what the problem seemed to be. Shortly after her arrival, the beast made its presence clear. As near as I can tell, it appeared to be some sort of demonic dog, approximately 6 feet in height at the tops of the ears, five feet at the shoulders. It was large, bulky, muscular, with a long whiplike tail equipped with barbed spines. Likewise, it had three heads which seemed to function independently of one another. Armswoman Urgarth determined its infernal nature straight away, and shortly thereafter, it attacked her. A common tactic in dealing with beasts larger than yourself, is to strike for the unprotected stomach, which was precisely what I aimed to do. Unfortunately, I did not take into consideration that the 'unprotected' belly, may not be as vulnerable as I anticipated, and I managed only to knick the creature. Armswoman Urgarth was knocked to the ground by the creature's tail, and I was attacked and pinned. I did managed to inflict a wound upon one of the heads, before the Armswoman launched another attack of her own. The entire ordeal was rather quickly over. The Armswoman managed to remove a large chunk of flesh from the creatures posterior region by use of her teeth, and I caused damage to the left front leg. it left a considerable trail of blood when it fled. The Armswoman and I both sustained injuries, though hers were worse than my own. The monster escaped us, and I would recommend using more numbers, should the Guard wish to actively hunt this creature. Though a beast, it does not appear to be wholly unintelligent.
