from the end of the Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy "I apologize for any
inconvenience.')

MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD

29th day of the first month of the new year.
Coming off patrol I entered the inn and was confronted by a woman known to
me as Red Fern, a duelist of sorts. She seemed shaken by something and asked
if I could help someone who was in trouble and babbling of a plague sweeping
across the land. Pointing to litterally a patchwork elf who had a multitude
of body parts from various races hacked off and sewn on in a definately
unnatural pattern I agreed to do what I could. Taking the elf back by the
name of Ni (played by Winter) is some kind of would be assassin, either by
geas or enduced cooperation from torture came to slay some sort of witch,
which I am still in the process of looking into. Red Fern feels a degree of
guilt, claiming the elf went into a fit of rage and needed to be subdued,
she injured him in the process but brought him to my attention almost
immediately after, I can confirm his fits of madness and in looking into him
and close examination find no evidence of demonic posession, a geas is
difficult to detect but I believe he is the victem of intense torture.
Through the examination I had the fortune of discovering a lethal magic made
disease, a deadly plague that results in death within days. Highly
contagious even, I've contained it while in its incubation period and have
managed to divine a cure for it, I found myself not infected by it, nor Red
Fern, which indicates that it had not reached a point where it could pass on
like the flu or cold... However we must be ever vigilant, more so now than
ever about the ill.
Nothing else follows.
Sgt. Arnise, Kirin
3rd Platoon Wharf Garrison
