From isis_bladedancer at yahoo.com Wed Jan 3 04:58:29 2007 From: isis_bladedancer at yahoo.com (Isis Sylverleaf) Date: Wed, 3 Jan 2007 02:58:29 -0800 (PST) Subject: [Royal Guard] Demonic Outbreak at the BlkDragon In-Reply-To: <5cfbab740612281559r2e8bfe07g944b3ea191290177@mail.gmail.com> Message-ID: <450283.85523.qm@web56705.mail.re3.yahoo.com> On the 3rd Day of Morning Star, 477 While officially off duty, and taking a rest at the BlkDragon Inn, I observed a less than wholesome individual enter the inn, (description of Darmius_Renwald), and while observing him, Magistrate Myurod arrived on the seen and proclaimed the individual a demon. As we are all aware, the Honorable Magistrate is in possession of a weapon that 'hums' in demonic presence, and it was giving quite a convincing show. The Magistrate did issue two seperate warnings to the creature, informing it that its kind are not accepted, nor legal, and that it would have to leave before action was taken. The demon responded with veiled threats. Arms Recruit Idelle Sarault entered in this time period, and moved to assist, as did I. The creature proceeded to take the fight outside. Outside, Magistrate Myurod, Arms Recruit Sarault and I were joined in battle by a strange woman (description of Agrippinilla). We were assisted, via supporting magics by one Zyacham, Laurel, and Deis, who were of great assistance. One may seek out a girl who goes by the name of Tabitha, who witnessed the battle. Injuries were sustained, Magistrate Myurod, in particular, seemed the worse for wear, and Arms Recruit Sarault suffered from muscle exhaustion, as well as our supporting mages being magically exhausted. The demonic individual is in posession of two forms, and once we destroyed the more humanoid form, it fled. This individual should be approached with caution, and in numbers, should it be encountered again. (I.E, his mun is a bit of a power playing dunce who only accepted attacks when he couldn't figure out a way to BS out of it. After being impaled by multiple weapons he 'transformed' into the Infernal_Demon, and ran away.) I would also move to make the suggestion, that given the recent outbreak of demonic entities, incubui and what not, it may not be such a bad idea for all members of the guard to be armed with something that detects demonic presence. While I appreciate the sentiment behind this suggestion, the channel operators don't feel that it's in the best interests of the channel. The suggestion certainly makes sense ICly, but the ops have no interest in implementing any measure like this, nor do we want to see a proliferation of devices like this in the channel setting. The IC laws against demons and the undead are just that--IC laws. They aren't a prohibition against muns creating demonic or undead character, they're intended to discourage Lord_of_Dorkness-style stupidity and encourage the muns to be subtle and clever in how they play their characters. As I wrote in the Guard primer that I send out to every new characters, the IC laws aren't an excuse to start witch hunts or harass players, and equipping the guard with demon-detecting items encourages both of those behaviors. If demonic characters are being obvious about their nature and causing trouble in the inn, by all means, give them hell. The demon detectors essentially remove any incentive to be subtle, since the Guard will still discover the demon and attack anyway. I can't stand poorly-played demons, but BDI strives to be as open and welcoming to as many styles of RP as possible. And at times, that means live and let live, rather than ganging up on players and running them out of the channel. We may be worrying unnecessarily and making a mountain out of a molehill, but the potential for abuse is our prime motivating factor in turning this idea down. --Dan From nextsynapse at yahoo.com Sat Jan 6 01:27:24 2007 From: nextsynapse at yahoo.com (Ayanula ...) [01/06/07]: After filing my report for the evening and retiring from my partol, I entered the Black Dragon Inn off-duty for a meal and leisure. Alongside Lieutenant Chasingfire, who was present as well in the Inn, a woman by the name of Nala Tepkin (description included*) approached the both of us and cited an incident earlier in the evening in which she claims to have been assaulted by Sir Jinnai Halfmoor. The woman stated that Sir Halfmoor first claimed a child in the Black Dragon was either a demon or possessed by demonic forces. Miss Tepkin went to intervene by stepping between the child and Sir Halfmoor, to which she claims he responded by accussing her of possessing the child as a demon, herself. She claims to have intervened peacefully and made no hostile overtures before Sir Halfmoor attacked her. Further more she claims that an individual by the name of Michael Taylor (description included) tried to step between Sir Halfmoor and Miss Tepkin as a result of the assault on her and this resulted in Sir Halfmoor attacking Mr Taylor. She said that the hostilities ended after she had pacified Sir Halfmoor with a spell. Miss Tepkin gave me several descriptions of witnesses to this event, including: (description of Kay), (description of Shayne), and (description of Crunuch). If needed for further information, she said she can be found staying at the Broken Dagger Inn or at the residence of a Muriel Spireswan. Halfmoor was quite irate, in that he had been in a tussle with a demon the previous day and had been ensorcelled against his will. He had only just recently recovered and immediately took to track down the Guard, finding my partner and I on our rounds. According to Halfmoor's account, the previous night at the Black Dragon Inn, he had encountered a strange child obviously possessed by some sort of demonic influence. The child, barely past his second year, was covered in arcane and mysterious tattoos, was distorted in face and feature, and spoke demonic tongues (description of Hyena). He was also guarded by a Hellish serpent of many heads and fiery eyes. 'Sir' Halfmoor insisted on trying to aid the child, in the face of many patrons' disinterest, and was confronted then by the Demoness in question (description of Nala provided), who was either the possessing spirit itself, or in league with it. The figure does indeed sound like a demon, and by all accounts it appeared from nowhere in a burst of brimstone and acrid smoke, floated and comported itself in a haughty manner, and bled urine instead of blood. It bragged of feeding the child its demonic ichor, providing it with the foul serpent, and refused to allow the child to be brought out of the often violent tavern and to one of the local orphanages. The demoness would not let anyone near the child, and threatened grave consequences. The licensed bounty hunter, stymied at all attempts to rescue the child and flee, was forced to draw his sword and do battle with the demoness in question, who commanded her infernal smoke in a manner of ways. In the midst, the struggle was interrupted by a strange-acting man (description of Michael Taylor) who inserted himself on the demon's behalf. Described by Halfmoor as one of those 'Demon's Rights Advocates' who are all too common in the Blkdragon District, Michael was apparently also a master of the open palm fighting of Xiunhai-la and other eastern lands. He attacked Halfmoor with such techniques, and was only given pause when the Drachean was forced to draw blood to defend himself. It was while thus engaged in battle with the interloper that Halfmoor was ensorcelled by the Demoness' magic and sent away while she and her human pet tended to their grave wounds. Most of us know Halfmoor pretty well, having worked with him for a few years. I'm inclined to believe his story. He's able to be contacted through the usual means if any more information is needed. The accused are not guilty until proven so and we should not jump to conclusions, I would not discredit either account and indeed I have encountered the child in question, I thought him feral and am in no way capable of detecting demons on a whim. The boy to me was simply as I was as a child, barbaric and unlearned, if it is true he is demonic than it is our civic duty to see the taint removed from him by whatever means necessary. However 'Sir' Halfmoor as he has fancied himself I have observed more than a few times quite beligerant and drunk beyond all reason in the inn, which is perfectly fine but he accused even myself as being a demon when I told him to calm himself. I have known him not quite as long as other perhaps but from what I have seen he is not unknown to make greater claims than there is substantial proof. We should by all means take his word into account in investigating this, but it should not be taken as absolutel law and truth. Justice is ever vigilant brothers and sisters of the guard, be unbiased but firm in dispensing judgement. Sgt. A young thief, [poor description of Corbin], seemingly incompetent, attempted to steal from everyone in the inn! At first, I was not aware that this was a robbery attempt, until the barmaid pointed it out to me. When observed, his efforts were both obvious and crude--among other things, he was harassing the patrons, though most people ignored him. Fortunately, he didn't manage to take anything. However, he did manage to escape through the window when I attempted to arrest him, breaking it in the process. ~Kypree, Adjutant __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? This woman, who could be described as [description of Pyrranelle], walked up, attempted to grab me off the bar top, and stuff me in a leather bag, without clear provocation. A witness, going by the name of Ind, described it as such; "We were going to have a drink and stuff, and the other lady came in, said hi, then tried to catch Kypree in a bag!" I managed to avoid her attempt to kidnap me, and promptly stated that I was a member of the guard and that kidnapping was against the law. Upon my request, she followed me to the guardhouse to await the return of a guard who could make an arrest. The arresting officer was Spell-Lieutenant Lay`Trayin ChasingFire, who suggested that I file the incident report. However, upon her proper arrest, this woman (who calls herself 'Pigswill Beory') promptly proceeded to make threats against me. Lieutenant Chasingfire stated that the proper charges to be levied against this criminal be that of Attempted Kidnapping of a Crown Official and Threats Against a Crown Official, but not Resisting Arrest. Sir Halfmoor inacted one of his rights to strike at an undead being, making no effort to stop him and or assist as he asked for none he proceeded to viciously assault Ravynetti Tivaurd. Mr. Tivaurd is known to me as being undead and indeed a lich but his history in the city has been of positive influence, I am unclear of his standing with the city, whether or not he is either sanctioned or even a citizen. Mr. Tivaurd made no effort to protect himself as the attacks from Sir Halfmoor seemed hopeless at best, to keep the peace I tried to appeal to Halfmoor's humanity but he was berzerk with zealous rage. I feel this is something to keep on eye out for, while a guard is in no way responsible for striking upon a banign undead on sight, we are bound by law to respect the rights of the citizenry, one of which is the destruction of undead as they see fit. However I ask only for clerification on Tivaurd's citizenship or lack there of. Followup on CPL. Moonstalker report I would like to formally apologize for the length of this report and for amending it with others, it is necessary as there is a shortage on paper in the office this evening, which I am glad to see, it means many reports are flowing. Without further adue, this evening I came across a crazed man by the name of Nyphin who claimed CPL. Moonstalker stabbed him in the stomach, demanded justice be done, I know the good corporals reputation and character are far superior to such claim, however I could not ignore the accusation, if for no other reason to prove one of our own innocent in unbiased and fair investigation. I used divination and counsel to see for myself what Nyphin had seen, in truth CPL. Moonstalker saved this mans life. He stumbled around in a stupor of alcohol, and his own weapon had flipped out of his hand, in a moment of alcohol induced lust he approached a young woman who was a sorceress, she used magic to take his weapon from him to keep him disarmed and as a means to have something between he and her. He stumbled right into his own weapon. This is an open and closed case of accidental wounding, however accidental or not she could have done something that held less risk of wounding a man, idiotic though he may be. She has hence been released on the promise of not leaving, she is awaiting word from a magistrate on what should be done with her. (Note: She is very docile and shy, she did this entirely by accident and it was obvious she felt terrible over what was done. She will not flee the city to escape paying for whatever crime she may or may not be charged with.) Finally, I would like to bring a few things to the attention of our Guard command. I have begun the investigation into a matter that appears unrelated to the recent oddities in and around the fair city of Drache. Missing persons reports coming in left and right, I have stumbled onto their remains, it seems ghouls have been killing in a near ritualistic fashion, I had hoped we'd have seen the last of this ritual and cultist madness for a while, that may not be the case. A man came to me one evening introducing himself simply as Bill, he is a Paranormal Investigator, private investigator if you will. He told me that he had witnessed a pile of burned bodies, by acid or fire, being eaten by ghouls, unable to fight them he came and retrieved me, with his talent as an investigator himself we found more bodies who were in the same circumstances he had spoken of. This may be a new ongoing problem. I am formally requesting to either deputize this man or some how allow him to work autonomously in cooporation with the guard, he is talented at what he does and is not interested in joining the rank and file of the guard itself. However as an associated ally could prove invaluable, however I leave this to the judgement of command. Nothing else follows. Sgt. Sgt Arnise was on the scene and carried the boy known as Hyena to the guardhouse as one Dies (desc given) carried the dead body to the guardhouse. I followed after with two witness by the name of Rue (desc given) and Red Fern (desc given). As Sgt Arnise tried to revive the dead boy I took the three witnesses wo my office to get the story of what had ahppened and all three sotries corroborate each other as given below. Attached are the statements I took as given by the witness as well. On the 23rd day of this current month the boy known as Hyena stated to Dies that he was going to go hunting.. She thought he meant to go outside and before she could stop him the boy attacked what appeared to be a pet cat that had a jewel on its head. She attempted to stop him but was too late as he had already bitten into the cat's neck and had a 'death' grip so to speak She tried to send a healing spell to the cat but her spell misfired and did no good as Hyena was knocked off balance by Rue who had struck him with a cane to try and stop him from attacking the cat. As hyena fell unconscious from a second blow delivered in anger by Rue the 'cat' died only to shapeshift and become the body of what appeared to be a 5 year old boy. After conferring with Magistrate Abraxas about this matter as a senior magistrate I have decided to file formal charges of accidental manslaughter against one Hyena and with the discretion of what ever Magistrate take sthis case I would like to also file the same charges against one Gantros (desc given) Signed and sealed with satatements attached from witnesses (log available on request) Spell Lt Lay`Trayin ChasingFire -=-seal attached-=- --------------------------- (ooc) for thos emagistrates with more questions please PM me or find me icly -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Chasingfire- In regards to one Gantros, I can personally verify that he has been of a negative influence to the child Hyena. I have observed this man conversing with fellow barmaid Jacynda, mentioning only what he called 'evil deeds'. On multiple occasions, this same gentleman has been noted to be attempting to spur on controversies within the inn, and seems to have a liking for violence and highly emotional situations. But regarding this man's personal relationship with the child Hyena, I noticed that he was 'fathering' the boy, off and on, as well as mentoring, but the nature of that mentoring is questionable. In the presence of LT. Chasingfire, Arms Recruit Sarault, this man was heard to be encouraging Hyena to kill another citizen by the name of Si Howe, for some slight. If this child has killed, I believe that some leniancy should be exercised, because of the influence of this man. If anyone should be punished, it should be Gantros, who, in the witness of myself, and the two Guards, claimed to accept full responsibility for any actions the boy might take. On an evening in which I had retired from my patrol, I had entered the Inn to see Hyena chase down a rodent and proceed to rip out its spinal cord with this teeth and devour it. I attempted to coax the child into a deal where he would let me purchase him a meal each night. Through the course of this approach, Hyena made numerous statements expressing his desire to kill or bring harm to a catwoman known as Si. After several attempts to figure out why he wanted to kill Si, I called over Lieutenant Lay Chasingfire to help explain to the boy that killing was wrong. As she spoke with him, an individual by the name of Gantros approached and proceeded to tell the boy not to listen to anything the Lieutenant or myself were saying. He went on to explain that pre-emptively killing someone was the same as self defense and was entirely legitimate. After being rebuked several times by the Lieutenant, myself, and an employee of the Black Dragon Inn by the name of Tia, he coaxed the child into leaving our company. It's been observed on several occassions that Grantros has effectively established himself as an influential figure in this child's life. It is also, in my proffesional opion, a very negative influence in which he has actively encouraged the child to engage in acts of premeditated murder and violence. Chasingfire's report, I would like to add the following statement taken from one Tia Mestin of the Black Dragon Inn. When I mentioned that a report had been filed regarding a Menxrukian follower, she seemed most eager to be of assistance. ~Isis Solquinn Desvani se Sylverleaf To Whomever It Is This Needs To Go To Regarding the Matter of Menxrukian Followers, In the very early hours of the morning of the 22nd day of this month, I returned to the common proper, to see a woman matching the description given by Lt. Chasingfire speaking to a man (descr. of PI-Bill), and she just had this look about her. You know, you work long enough in a position that reuires you to deal with people, and you learn how to read people, gut instinct. I ignored it at first, because I can tend to be a little on the paranoid side. But then I heard her drop the word Menxruk, so I started listening. It seemed to be apparent that this woman was actively attempting to convert patrons of the inn. When I informed her that, I believe my exact words were, "Go peddle your mumbo jumbo elsewhere, it isn't wanted here," she began preaching at me. This wasn't necessarily offensive to me, beyond the fact that she repeatedly told me that my life was without purpose and my faith in my dieties is a farce. She made the comment, "When all that you attribute to your deities is stripped away, as is Menxruk's will, you will see your worship is a farce." She also called me a hedonist, and on the next night, a heathen. Myself, I am not so much offended by this, I find her constant preaching almost humorous. But, there are others who might take it the wrong way and carry things into a physical altercation. Which would only serve to make my job more difficult. I'm not sure what good this statement will do, but I felt that as an upstanding citizen, it was my responsibility to submit it. Tia Esvanti Mestin --------------------------------- Expecting? [1/26/07] Upon returning to the Guard House to file my evening report, I stumbled across a man (description of Daerid`Lasein) yelling for a Guard. When I arrived on the scene, I noted the presence of Hyena, who had several open wounds on his person and broken glass pieces on his clothing. In addition to noting this, one of the front windows to the Black Dragon Inn was completely shattered. When asked what happened, I recieved two radically different acounts. The man alleged that Hyena had randomly approached him in the street, accussing him of theft before throwing a rock at him. He claims that the rock missed him and busted out the window. The man stated that he didn't know why the boy appeared to have been beaten up. Hyena's version stated that the man did indeed steal several coins from him before he eventually threw the boy, himself, through the window in a scuffle that ensued over his accussations. Since the boy's account appeared to be more realistic in regards to the appearance of the scene and the boy, himself, I challenged the man by asking both to voluntarily allow me to shackle both for my saftey and take them inside to look for the supposed rock. While the boy complied and was shackled, the man removed a crossbow from under his cloak and held it to me at close range when I went to shackle him. He proceeded to tell me he planned to walk away and would shoot me if I tried to prevent him. I put myself between him and the boy to make sure the man didn't feel like exacting any sort of revenge upon him while I was in such a vunerable position. I instructed Hyena to go inside and wait. After the boy shied away, the man began to point the crossbow at my face and threatened to kill me. I attempted to slap the weapon downward and two bolts simultaneously fired themselves both into my right hip and into my right kneecap. As I went down, I grabbed hold of the man to try and wrestle him to the ground. In the process of doing so, however, I was stuck in the right shoulder and back numerous times by what I could only identify as ice shards. Apparently the man I was holding onto had pulled me up to use me as a human shield against an unidentified individual behind me who was trying to lend assistance to the situation. After bearing the brunt of that attack, I managed to headbutt the man twice before he rolled me onto all of my wounds at once. The pain caused me to immeidately release him and the man escaped thereafter. By then I noted that several individuals had come to my aid (description of Ferret and Slar) before I lost consciousness. Upon awakening, I had found that Lieutenant Chasingfire had stumbled upon the aftermath and began questioning various individuals as to what happened. She also released Hyena from the shackles he was unfortunately left in while the assault took place. I also realized that (description of Ferret and Slar), and a woman by the name of Dies had apparently healed many of my sustained wounds while I was blacked out. (description of Daerid`Lasein) is still on the loose and will be charged with theft, the assault on the boy, and assault upon a crown official with intent to kill. He should be considered armed and dangerous and approached with extreme caution. Signed, ~Idelle Sarault, Armswoman --------------------------------- Bored stiff? Loosen up... While drinking my coffee a man entered fitting the description of the man (Daerid`Lasein) that had assaulted Armswoman Idelle Sarault. I approached the man and asked him twice to comply with my orders for surrender which he ignore before I finally cast a spell towards him which he dodged. As he ran another patron sought to delay or help capture him as I loosed a second spell at him. This one as well missed and unfortunately hit the patron (Mortis) trying to help and am glad it was only a freeze spell for a limited time. I decided on more direct results then and stalked the man thru the crowd at then. At which time he stopped and aimed a disc at me and threw it. Fortunately I had noticed his preparations and only took damage to my wing at that time. After throwing the disc at me the man (Daerid`Lasein) then turned and fled out a window thereby breaking it and I followed after him. I managed to tackle the man to the ground and as a further bid for freedom the man did bite myself hard on the side of my neck and believe he would have drawn blood or ripped out my throat would he have been able to. He also did draw a knife and stab me in the left side and twist the knife before I was finally able to get a hold spell on him. Another patron by the name of Melantha did then help me to get the accused to the guardhouse as I was not at my best even tho the man was cuffed. I am adding a charge of resisting arrest to Armswoman Sarault's original charges as well as to the list of charges I am bringing against the man (Daerid`Lasein).I am bringing charges of resisting arrest as well as three counts of attempted murder of a Crown Official and destruction of private property. He was just about to be escorted out by Lieutenant Chasingfire, as well as some others, before I noted a woman, by the name of Pheronia Laiska, staggering down the stairs who had been apparently mauled by a large creature. There had apparently been a dispute between the two when [John_Black] knocked on her room door and accussed her of holding his female companion (description of Seren) hostage in her room. She denied the accussations and invited him into her room to examine for himself that [Seren] was not present. The man changed forms after becoming infuriated and proceeded to maul Pheronia. When asked why he might have thought she had been holding his companion, Pheronia said that she may have encountered [Seren] earlier in the day and that [John_Black] recognized the scent on her while downstairs and decided to follow her up to her room to investigate. I advised Pheronia not to return to her room at the Black Dragon Inn, in case [John_Black] decided to seek her out and attack her again. She informed me that she'd find other accomidations and would let members of the Guard know where she was staying in case we need to contact or summon her for trial. [John_Black] should be considered dangerous and approached with caution. He will be charged with Attempted Murder. I went to investigate and found a merchant known to me as Iwoola (desc given) fighting with another. As I approached it seemd that the merchant had been stabbed in the back non-lethally holding down his assailant (desc of npc ). I managed to cuff the attacker and brought hm and Iwoola to the guardhouse . The assailant was seen to by a duty magistrate and I wool then proceeded to tell me a tale of poisoning in his own offices after I had healed him. It would seem that the merchant had been lightly poisoned earlier in the day then attacked by whom he assumes might be the same man that attacked him some weeks ago. He has no idea who or why he is under these attacks. Signed and sealed Spell Lt Lay`Trayin ChasingFire -=-seal attached-=- -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... [1/28/07] Still on leave from active duty in recovery from my injuries, I came to the Black Dragon Inn for a meal and leisure. Soon after, John Black, the man fitting the description of Phenoria's assailant, entered into the Inn to turn himself in. He did so directly to me, despite there being no guard insignia on my person. Lieutenant Chasingfire, who was also present, offered me her shackles in order to arrest the man. I did so and brought him back to the Guard House for holding. I found it odd that knew he was wanted in connection to the assault on Pheronia when his warrant wasn't older than a day. What also alarmed me was that he seemed to know it was me who had issued his warrant. When asked how he came to learn of this, he stated that his father had access to this information. Mr. Black also stated that he wanted me to inform his father of his arrest and told me that he could often be found back at the Black Dragon. Upon my return there to hand Lieutenant Chasingfire back her borrowed shackles, I was approached by the father, Mandrake Wolfwick. I informed him that his son was arrested, then questioned him about how he came across the warrant for Mr. Black's arrest. He explained in vague terms that he had observed something with his son's name on it in the Guard House by means of magic. I told the man he was going to be placed under arrest for illegal obervance of a crown document and criminal use of magic. I warned him that because he had spoken with his son about what he'd seen, that it came awfully close to Aiding and Abetting a Fugitive. He seemingly backpeddled a bit and stated that he had used magic to observe the testimony of Pheronia at the Guard House, not a document. The Lieutenent stated that such still constituted as illegal observance and that the charge should stand. Mr. Wolfwick was formally arrested and brought back to the Guard House. He will be charged with Illegal Observance of a Crown Document and Criminal Use of Magic. I would like to note that while Mr. Black was tipped off through illegal means, he was very cooperative in turning himself in. Late in the evening while off from patrol I sat at the BlkDragon Inn to witness a rather abnormal influx of drow among the local populace. Naturally tempers flared (which is to be expected) and by accident Jinnai Halfmoor dumped boiling liquid on a drow that had recently entered the establishment. Immediately Lt. Trayin and myself responded, the Lt. attended Halfmoor to keep him from escalating further, as I arrived at the Drow in my attempts to render him assistance he drew a weapon and threw it at Halfmoor, striking him square in the chest. The blad was obviously poisoned and the drow took off out of the window. Leaving through the front door I gave chase with far too many bystanders in tow. (The issue of civillian interference in Guard activity must be cut, the risk of injury becomes compounded and often times ego gets in the way of the ultimate goal of apprehension.) Upon cornering what was hoped to be the drow it was discerned he used a portable hole to exit into the sewers and escape us. At this time his whereabouts are unknown, he must be considered extremely dangerous and he admitted verbally to being both drow and of demonic origin. It is doubtfull he will be easily engaged in open combat, he opted to flee and leave traps instead of fight. Sgt. Stopping in at the 'Dragon towards the end of my shift on this 30th day of Morning Star, I mentioned this incident to a friend of mine, who was witness to this incident, and she told me a somewhat different story. I have attatched her statement below: Dear Sir, or Madam I ask that Armswoman Sylverleaf be not looked upon poorly for adding this memorandem, for she did so at my request. It is of some concern that perhaps Sgt. Arnise, might have gotten some of the details...confused, at certain points, as Lady Sylverleaf related to me. In regards to the incident concerning Vorfon Halfmoor, or Sir Halfmoor as he prefers, I do not believe that it was an 'accident' at all. The drowish gentleman had no sooner walked through the door, than Halfmoor ordered the 'piping hot' liquid, and then threw it on the other. This irritated the man, justifiably so I believe, and he responded by 'getting in' Halfmoor's face. Words were exchanged, with the end result being the Drow shoving his dagger into Halfmoor's gut and fleeing through a window, breaking the window as well. The consensus, based on Halfmoor's reaction, was that the blade was poisoned. Sgt. Arnise gave chase, as did two other patrons of the inn, and myself. Entering the alley, we were confronted by a series of traps. One of the patrons who had come to assist in the chase, and apprehending of this man, pressed forward, and was met with several thin, sharp wires that seemed to be attracted to his armor. Evading this sprung trap, Sgt. Arnise and I pressed onward, towards a stack of crates near one wall. Sgt. Arnise, apparently, sensed that the fugitive was hiding there. He issued a warning, and I prepared to tackle the fugitive to keep him from escaping should he try to run again. When there was no response, Sgt. Arnise kicked over the crates, and we were showered with a cloud of white, powdery dust. Sgt. Arnise managed to avoid the stuff, but I was caught off guard, and was not only coated in the stuff, but inhaled a fair amount of it. There was a statue, and a note that read "Portable Hole". It was assumed then, that he must have fled into the sewers. I was sent back into the inn, to locate a Ravynetti Tivuard to assist in locating the fugitive, and there, my involvement comes to a conclusion. Other than, of course, that the man made the comment, just after stabbing Sir Halfmoor, that: "That'll teach you to let a drow tiefling get so close!" ~Signed Alliriae Draxtus "Ferret" Tiefling Healer And in regards to civilian interference...at this moment, I have found that we are greatly undermanned, and in most cases, said civilians are trying to be of assistance. I make reference to an earlier incident, when Arms Recruit Sarault was attacked just outside the inn. Had it not been for civilian interference on the part of Tespin Draxtus and Vorfon Tivuard, and a few others, Arms Recruit Sarault would most likely have died. While I agree that in some cases, the interference is reaching a critical level, in many cases, it has been beneficial to our survival. ~Isis Solquinn Desvani se Sylverleaf Armswoman --------------------------------- Cheap Talk? [01/31/07]: After filing my report for the evening and retiring from my partol, I entered the Black Dragon Inn off-duty for a meal and leisure. It was here that I found two combatants (description of Heldenbrand & Kip_Leonhart) engaging one another inside of the Inn. I drew my weapon and called for both to halt immediately. The fighting subsided long enough for me to question both individuals over the incident. (Description of Heldenbrand) alleged that he was engaged in a proper duel with the other individual. I informed the man that duels were not to be carried out in public places and asked for him to take it outside. At this point he informed me that the individual he was dueling was in fact a self-admitted demon and asked for my assistance in slaying him. I approached the situation with extreme skepticism and questioned the other individual about his nature and the validity to these allegations. (Description of Kip_Leonhart) proceeded to give me a rather convoluted answer, claiming to be of the first and original demons, but that he could hardly be considered a demon in this realm. I took it to constitute as self-admittance since several other patrons, including his own companions, referred to him as demonic. Giving [Heldenbrand] the ok to proceed with the slaying, [Kip_Leonhart] tried to deter the assault by saying he was a vampire, as was his female companion (description of Cytheria). He was quickly educated by multiple patrons, including myself, on the kingdom's legal regard for Demons and Vampires. [Cytheria] stepped in front of [Kip] in order to divert any kind of attack. I quickly pulled her away from the male and Heldenbrand proceeded to deliver a fatal blow to [Kip]. Though I did not witness it directly, I was later told the male had been killed by Heldenbrand and his remains disappeared. An individual by the name of Diemlocutus Tivaurus and the Inn's bouncer, Tia Mestin, assisted in detaining [Cytheria]. Mr. Tivaurus had burned and ignited the woman's skin by striking her with concentrated beams of sunlight. After a short scuffle, she was subdued and shackled. I had been thoroughly convinced, however, that she was indeed a vampire throughout the verbal admittance and reaction to sunlight. Rather than wasting the time of the Magistrates, I openly asked the patrons of the Inn if any of them wished to behead her and claim the reward. Mr. Tivaurus accepted the invitation and decapitated her while she was detained in shackles. Tia mentioned to me that she will deliver a written witness statement to Armswoman Sylverleaf tomorrow cataloguing the night's events in addition to this report. On this evening, the 31st day of Morning Star, I was taking my lunch in the kitchen, when the sound of a scuffle brought me out, in time to hear Arms Recruit Sarault order the two men to halt. One, I could readily identify as Kip Leonhart, whom I had exchanged words with the night before, the other (Heldenbrand) is not known to me. I listened as the unidentified man informed Arms Recruit Sarault that they were engaged in a duel, and she informed him, that duels were to be removed from public places, to prevent property damage, and the harm of bystanders. He then informed her that Kip was an admitted demon. I pointed out that it would be better to remove the confrontation to the outside, to prevent damage to the inn, or harm to the other patrons. Sadly, my voice went unheeded in that matter, and I fear by the time things were over, the staff were left with quite a mess to clean up. During the conversation that unsued, Kip first admitted to being a demon saying that he was of the first and original demons, but that would not be counted as 'demonic'. Then claiming that he died, and returned. Then, protesting being a demon, he used the word Vampyre, and stated that he was a 'guardian of flesh'. His two companions, a woman who I know for certain was a vampire, and a man (Alix_Darkheart) began to move towards the confrontation. I warned them back, but they did not listen. Events led to Cytheria stepping in front of Kip, and bending to whisper something to him. Arms Recruit Sarault jerked the woman away and was preparing to place her under arrest for obstruction of justice, when the vampire woman called shadow to mask her escape. I struck a lucky blow, because, let's face it, calling darkness and shadow to you, in a well lit inn, is like creating a ball of light around you in the middle of a dark night. I took her legs out, and then tried to restrain her, which ended in us tusseling on the floor before the Arms Recruit was finally able to restrain the woman. During this tussel, another man, Diemlocutus, hit her with a concentrated beam of sunlight projected from his staff. The other man who was aiding the vampires then stepped into the beam to try to sheild Cytheria, and proceeded to try to take the staff from the hands of Diemlocutus. I ordered him from the inn on pains of arrest, and he left without arguement. Kip was dispatched, his body claimed by a dark mist, and Cytheria was dispatched by Diemlocutus. I will point out that on past nights, I have ordered Cytheria from the inn, based on her vampirism, because it was beginning to cause unease among the patrons. On the night of the 30th of this same month, I entered, after having been attacked by another vampire while tending to my horse in the stables, and confronted Cytheria. Kip, proceeded to make threatening tones to me, suggesting that if I did not join them at their table, he might try to harm me. Both had been warned that their presence would be tolerated only so long as they did not cause undue trouble within the inn itself. And Cytheria herself had been informed of the law multiple times, and only persisted in telling me that she liked it here and would not be leaving because of prejudice against her 'kind'. I also observed Kip and Cytheria referring to themselves as "persons of darkness". Based on this information, I can say that Arms Recruit Sarault acted appropriately, and that the persons of the man who dispatched Kip, and Diemlocutus should not be treated with any sort of suspicion.
