MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD

17th day of the 5th month of the year.

Unto Captain Lucious Von Stahl.

It is with regret that this memorandum has had ink put to paper as it refers
to two separate cases of disciplinary action which I recomend, for the
greater good of the kingdome of Arangoth first, the good of the Royal Guard
of our fair city of Drache second, and those who's names follow third.

First I address Spell-Corporal Kane Jhin, who I regard as extremely
enthusiastic in his job and normally see his performance as satisfactory,
however I have had two formal complaints from citizens brought directly to
my attention and have been forced to make them into reports. The reason
formal complaints were made upon his person were a result of "bullying"
citizens. All be it the citizen was a drow, he did indeed have the proper
papers to back up who he was and that he was indeed a citizen of the city.
Even with probable cause it is wrong to act as a bully, this is not the land
of Thay and we are not ruled by the Red Wizards by some iron fist. I
understand general view of and feel my own bias toward the Drow population
that seem to flit in and out of our streets but they are elves all the same
and by the law are protected just the same, this is a serious blow to our
already tarnished reputation. To this I did indeed give him a firm talking
to, a verbal reprimand if you will. He told me he was under orders by an elf
named Eolenel to interrogate the drow and keep an eye out for her. To this I
gave him the benafit of the doubt and took it upon myself to speak to her,
find out for myself if ineed she had the writs to take command of the Royal
Guard at her discretion, or to ask her kindly not to order our guardsmen
around. When I spoke to her she showed me her writs from you, sir. I will
not question this as it is surely not my place, nor will I inquire, it was
all I needed to know from her, that she had authority to do so. She did
however tell me that she did in no way what so ever tell Spell Corporal Kane
Jhin to shake down or order him to keep an eye on drow for her. She told him
to be weary and said he became erratic and strange to her words, taking it
far too litterally. These two combined must not be overlooked and I leave
the range of punishment to you, sir. I merely recommend action be taken.

Secondly I write about the actions of Corporal Ryal. His bloodline makes no
difference, as with the case above he is a guard and his duty is selfless to
the throne of Arangoth and the will of his leadership. Given his
circumstances, trauma, and stress I do not necessarily recommend discipline
but his actions must be taken into account. Like all guards he must answer
for his actions for he is a direct reflection of us all, like a chain we are
as strong as our weakest link. He has a bad disposition and likes to talk
down and degrading to his superiors, myself included (especially). He has
even gone so far as to get into my face and made threatening gestures. As I
already stated, given his duress I would recommend leniency but he must
still answer for his actions.

Thank you for your time reading this, sir. Our country not ourselves.

Arms-Sergeant Arnise, Kirin
(signed and all that good jazz... oooo curvey signature!)
