Message-ID: Scribbled neatly in the rough and untrained manner of the handwriting of Lathos: "Today was an interesting encounter within the walls of the Black Dragon Inn. After responding to a child messenger with words of a Vampire in the inn, I made all haste to the establishment to find what appears to be a young woman (Description of Shatter follows in rather bland detail), whom goes by the name of Shatter. When I happened upon the scene of people standing about her, she denied being a Vampire and insisted instead to being a Vamprae, which as she decsribes feeds on what remains in the hearts of Vampires. The whole circumstance, as I understand it, was started by her asking for blood to , as I later found out, bait a trap to catch Vampires for nourishment, however determining her as still being a Vampire or not is up to the Crown and her authorities. This brings up the second incident that stemmed from the first, to which a man, I believe his name to be Ravynettius something something, appeared from the floor behind the girl and admitted to harboring her. Incase that she was indeed a Vampire, I ordered both to return to the guardhouse with me until such time as the girl's nature could be determined and whether or not he had commited some crime. He, rather arrogantly, insisted that he held in lot with the Magistrates, listing them by name as if to disuade me from my service. When that trick did not work, he went on to challenge my authority as well as the authority of the entirety of the Royal Crown and declaring himself above our 'petty' laws. He then made his escape quickly, drawing away into whatever nether abyss the bastard came from. At the end of both confrontations, the girl, Shatter, came along quietly and without complaint, rather insisting that I do not continue further argument with her supposed mentor Ravynettius. If the powers to be do decide her fate to be ended for crimes of Vampirism, I do request with all due respect that it be a clean and quick one, as she neither resisted nor offered anything but politeness. She currently awaits in her cell. By the Crown's glory, Lathos of the Steppes Haratham." A nice ink blot stains the bottom corner of the letter, and the obvious signs of trying to clean the stain with some sort of cloth. _________________________________________________________________ It?s the same Hotmail?. It was here that I witnessed, only by chance, a man [description of Aiden`Rose] along the bar drinking a dark red substance out of a small trinket.? Around the same time, he made several remarks to his companion [description of Reiko`Langston] concerning, "Blood." After watching him for a bit, I finally approached to ask what the red substance was.? He was evasive at first to answering and only after I asked to see the trinket did he answer that it was indeed blood.? Upon advertising his fangs for me, he attempted to distance himself from the notion that he was a vampire.? I had seen enough, however, and proceeded to arrest him.? On the sheer benefit of the doubt did I take him into custody so that his true nature could later be determined by a Magistrate.? He explicitly tried to convince me he was not a vampire - that he just happened to have fangs and drink blood. He is currently residing within a jail cell at the Guardhouse awaiting review by someone more suited to make that determination than myself.? As it stands, he is charged under the suspicioun of being a vampire. Signed, ~Idelle Sarault, Arms-Sergeant -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... While I awaited my company to arrive, Dulcina notified me that a street informant working for me had dropped off a package for me to pick up. When I examined the contents, it revealed information concerning two individuals [descriptions of Derrick and Brynne] that are suspected demons.? The second individual was one I knew of, as I'd run into her before - surprisingly as both a civilian and later as a member of the Royal Guard.? She remains on our rosters as an Arms-Recruit, but now evidence has come to light that she may in fact possess a demonic nature. Enclosed with the note was a gemstone that evoked images of both individuals in a humanoid and demonic form.? This stone has been stored at the Guardhouse and logged in as potential evidence. If these suspicions are grounded in fact, both individuals pose a serious threat to the general civilian population as well as the Crown.? If come across, they should be approached and interviewed with extreme caution. Signed, ~Idelle Sarault, Arms-Sergeant -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Date: Mon, 5 Jan 2009 23:35:35 -0800 (PST) Subject: [Royal Guard] Derrick detained and arrested Message-ID: <435447.98367.qm@web58802.mail.re1.yahoo.com> On this eve [January 5th, 2009], I entered the Black Dragon Inn after receiving a tip from my informant on the street that the individual matching the male demon [Derrick] was present.? I entered accompanied by Detective Kassad and Arms-Corporal Ratholta to assist in serving this high risk warrant. The individual was arrested and taken into custody without incident inside of an otherwise crowded Inn.? He was then led back to the Guardhouse for processing, though not alone.? Several witnesses and interviewees wished to give numerous statements regarding the suspected demon. Tilythia, the part-time barmaid at the Inn filed an assault charge against [Derrick] for his assault on a non-cognizant creature known as "Batty."? Tilythia alleges that [Derrick] used his own "demonic" blood to infect this creature, which has led to it's deteriorating state of, as she describes, "evil."? The informant working for me on this case can also confirm this, but wishes to remain nameless until the charges are proven or he/she is called upon as a witness.? I'm considering the information given to me from this source to be reliable. A third witness, Tilythia's husband, Dhamizad, is also acting as a witness that something "malignant" has been introduced into the body of Batty.? This individual fancies himself as an expert hunter of demons and vampires - self proclaimed, of course. As if this were not enough, a fourth witness, Antekkereh, was also present to give a contradictory statement to all of this.? Being a said cohort of [Derrick], she alleges that the suspected demon "offered" his blood to Batty, which saved him and restored vitality to him without it possessing any demonic attributes.? She also claims that Batty is the same creature he was prior to being "offered" the blood of [Derrick] and has not experienced any changes described by Dhamizad and Tilythia. Also of note is that while in custody, [Derrick] seemed unresponsive to a holy water test, leading to some speculation over the charge that he is a demon.? However, I am not certified in such a field as making a professional determination on whether one is or is not a vampire or demon.? That is being left up to the presiding Magistrate in this case. Right now he is being held on one count of assault for the theory that he did infect Batty with demonic blood and he is also being held under suspicion of being a demon.? The latter is a charge to be assessed by a certified member of the Crown experienced in making such a determination. Pending further investigation and examination into whether or not [Derrick] is indeed a demon, Antekkereh may soon face charges of aiding and abetting.? For now, however, she remains but a "person of interest" in this case. Signed, ~Idelle Sarault, Arms-Sergeant [Attached:? I would like to personally commend Arms-Corporal Ratholta for his valued efforts in going well above and beyond his normal duties on this case.? He tirelessly interviewed many of the witnesses in our interrogation rooms at the Guardhouse for an extensive ammount of time in an attempt to get to the bottom of this case.] -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I. 479 Message-ID: <000901c96fd2$4d5940c0$e80bc240$@net> Guards report, Arms-Sergeant Marqhen Alajin-Stygian Date of incident: *The second day of Flunnish in the four hundred and seventy-ninth year from the founding of Tagrana. During a regular patrol while passing nearby the Black Dragon Inn, an explosion rocked the premises. Upon attending the scene I was advised that the suspected perpetrator had already fled. (A very sparse description of Ourus Shadowstar) During questioning a further attack occurred, targeting both the original target and myself. The attacks were performed using a type of magic I have so far been unable to identify. Assistance from a member of the Spell corps would be appreciated. The original target of the attack was a man by the name of Vaelian Roschel, who currently resides at the Silver Swan. He states that the man attacked him dur to Vaelian attempting to prevent the man from harassing a woman, identified as Makayla Darkest. I questioned the woman and she confirmed these events, however stated that she has no permanent residency in the city. If further information is needed from the woman, I have advised that a message shall be left at the Black Dragon Inn. It should be noted that Vorfon Roschel assisted in protecting myself during the second attack, pulling me to the ground before the attack struck. I should like it to be officially noted. It is my suggestion that a bounty be placed upon the head of the accused, to be brought in for questioning. I should also note that Arms-Corporal Merrax Ratholta attended the scene after the event, and he may be able to collaborate on this information. *The second day of Flunnish in the four hundred and seventy-ninth year from the founding of Tagrana. - 2nd of January, 2009 *Me enxenim, Marqhen Alajin-Stygian Arms-Sergeant, Royal Guard of Drache *Me enxenim - "By my hand." Date: Thu, 8 Jan 2009 23:58:56 -0800 (PST) Subject: [Royal Guard] Conspiracy Case / Darknesse arrested & released Message-ID: <232573.32706.qm@web58802.mail.re1.yahoo.com> On the evening of [01/08/2009], I was at the Guardhouse working on updating our fugitive sketches as part of my collateral duty when I received a message from the front deskman.? A scroll, sent to the Guardhouse by owl, revealed itself to be from Spell-Corporal Odion Tsekani. In reading it, the Corporal denoted having listened in on a conversation had between Andramar Hellfire and [description of Darknesse].? The conversation regarded a plot that they were discussing which pertained to a Natrias Hellfire.? According to their conversation, the plan was for [Darknesse] to lure me, specifically, into seeking out and arresting Natrias while [Darknesse] stole something of his, an artifact, in his absense. What caught my attention immediately was the fact that the Corporal denoted [Darknesse] as being a Menxrukian, which piggy backs an incident I was informed of prior that involved another follower of the dark faith who tried to falsely implicate me in an abuse of power crime to several crown officials. Fearing these were connected and that perhaps this conspiracy case had broader objectives regarding my person (since both instances refered to me by name) or even the Crown, I immediately arrived at the Black Dragon Inn to accompany the Corporal.? Once I identified one of the individuals with him, I asked him to assist me in making the arrest.? Without incident, I placed [Darknesse] under arrest for conspiracy to commit theft and conspiracy to kidnap. After bringing her back to the Guardhouse, she was thoroughly interviewed by myself and the Corporal on a number of topics.? She was found not to be Menxrukian and was not associated/involved with a woman known as Zaida, who had specifically levied false charges of abuse against me, by name.? She came up with numerous responses to the Corporal's questions regarding specifics about what was said between Andramar and herself. The statements she gave were a stretch, but since I was not there to witness or hear what exactly was said in their conversation, I turned to Corporal Tsekani for his recommendations on what he thought should be done at this point.? He and I agreed to release the woman until more evidence was gathered on this case. It should be noted to all members of the Royal Guard that Natrias Hellfire is not a fugitive and is not currently wanted for any crime.? Information brought to the Crown's attention by either Andran or [Darknesse] implicating Natrias in a crime should be approached with extreme skeptism.? If the claim is legitimate, neither of these two are to be present durring or after the arrest of said individual. Message-ID: <299426.79566.qm@web35307.mail.mud.yahoo.com> The following is carefully block printed and delivered to Captain Lucius von Stahl and Lord Chancellor Julius ul`Arduin Malbraxa "It is my finding that the accusations of Sedition against one Ravenetti Tivaurd are not accurate. Armsman Lathos' verbiage in his report was far to severe for what actually took place, which was a simple argument between two people who do not like each other. Armsman Lathos overstepped himself in his report, however I also do not find that he did so maliciously, as he actually believes what he reported. However he is allowing his personal feelings to cloud his judgement, which cannot be excused in this circumstance as it could bring into question the ethics of the Chancellery." "My investigation has forced me to question Armsman Lathos' judgement in such matters. Based on this incident and my conversation with him I have concluded he has a dislike for those in a position of authority, power, or strength, and has a difficult time seeing past that. I strongly urge that he either be retrained or dismissed from the Royal Guard." I was explaining the Crown's policies to her in private outside of the establishment when one of the Inn staff emerged from the front door calling for the Guard.? When I entered and spoke with Dulcina, she noted that a patron [description of Darknesse] had reported to her seeing another patron [description of LeClaire] bearing vampiric fangs. Approaching the suspected vampire, I had her show me her teeth, which resulted in no anomalies, then I had her drink and touch her skin with a vial of stock holy water I carry on me while on patrol.? She responded to neither of these self-administered tests, thusly I pulled [Darknesse] aside to interview her over what she saw.? This woman was rather adament about what she saw, which was vampiric fangs.? She also attested to hearing this woman claim that red wine doesn't really settle her "real thirst." I decided to administer another test after having Paetines bless a glass of water Dulcina had provided.? When I turned to administer said test, the woman began to flee with haste.? I told her to stop in the name of the Crown and she continued to run away.? The pursuit went as far as the front door before I lost total and utter track of this individual, leading me to believe that either magics or a, possible, accelerated vampire agility was involved. At any rate, [LeClaire] is currently wanted on the charges of Resisting Arrest and being a Suspected Vampire.
