Involvement included myself, Sergeant Markus Duke, Armsmen Bieusta Lui, Thomas Bayalut, and Clayden Ostris.? The target was Teraunce Foaloke, the individual indicated in Sergeant Kassad's report on [5/28/2009]. After coordinating with Inn management, his room was stormed at the BlkDragon Inn and Teraunce was taken into custody without incident.? After being shackled and patted down, he was led off to the Guardhouse, where he confessed to the crimes of criminal use of magic and assault upon an individual identified as, "Isaac." Several interviews revealed that Teraunce's female companion, identified as, "Faelin," had no active involvement in the criminal activities of this indivdiual.? Though in explanation of his case, it was clear that Teraunce did not intend by design to harm Isaac, he just wanted to distract him by show-boating his dangeous magic. Based on his statements, the crimes were brought down to public endagerment and a minor assault charge.? He was flogged, fined 50 bank crowns, and served a two day jail sentence before being released. It should be noted this individual's skewed judgement is indeed based on a short temperment.? Should he become involved in another assault crime where he is at fault, the punishment should be exacted at the greatest extent in accordance with law. They've used alchemic devices as explosives to mutilate and kill crown officials in the past and last night's occurance is perhaps a sign that there is a renewed effort to carry out this sort of destructive campaign again. It is also being advised to, when in the presence of the medusa known as Elapidae, be vigilant for suspicious behavior of others around her.? It was this bounty hunter that brought to justice a priestess of Menxruk who was found guilty for libel, two felony assault charges, as well as membership in a militant faction.? She was exiled and led to the border with Outer Arangoth several months ago, lending to the suspicion that this may be a delayed retaliation move.? As such, Elapidae exists as a potential target as well. Regardless of the motivating factors, however, all Guardsmen are advised to be well aware of their surroundings for the next few weeks until this investigation is completed. Date: Wed, 10 Jun 2009 10:41:37 -0700 (PDT) Subject: [Royal Guard] Regarding Penelope and Isaacs Message-ID: <396444.89915.qm@web58807.mail.re1.yahoo.com> On the night of [06/09/2009], I was prompted to enter the Inn after a Dragon was sighted crashing into trees, then attempting to enter the Inn through the balcony on the second floor.? When I entered to assess the situation, I stumbled across a tiefling [description of Penelope] running past me out the door with a roast in hand.? Thereafter, Isaacs, a man indicated earlier a week or so ago in Sergeant Kassad's report and later dealt with in the arrest of Terraunce Foaloke, claimed that the tiefling stole his roast and fully expected me to literally chase after the being over the food. My response was naturally to get Isaacs to relax because I had more important things to do than start up a foot pursuit over a half-eaten roast that this man was compensated for by Inn management.? He insisted on action being taken and began to create a scene over the issue.? I was not intent on running after a stolen roast. However, in an unexpected turn of events, to come to a compromise I ended up soliciting the help of the Dragon to aid in spotting the tiefling from the sky, at which point I would follow causually on horseback and track her down in this manner.? Surely enough, when she was found she initially resisted arrest, not complying with my directives.? As a result, she was taken down to the ground and forceably shackled. When questioned about the incident surrounding the roast, she claimed that Isaacs stabbed her in the back for absolutely no reason when she merely walked by his table, and this prompted her to take a bite out of the roast.? Obviously this sounded like I was being fed a line, thusly I led the tiefling back to the Inn and confronted both individuals involved [Isaacs and Penelope] about the situation. Both surgarcoated their roles, but essentially the tiefling went to snatch Isaacs roast and he reacted pre-emptively by slashing her along the back with a knife, thinking she was going to attack him.? There were also accussations that Isaacs may have threatened the tiefling under his knife to inflict more harm upon her.? I didn't look into this too much for the reason below: After a long explanation of how that didn't bode well with the law, I gave both of them their options:? that the Tiefling would be brought in on a misdemeanor theft charge and would spend the night in the jail while Isaacs would be facing a minor assault charge and would be issued a summons to appear before a Magistrate in order to argue his case... OR they'd agree to drop the charges against one another and if ever arrested or charged for either of these related crimes again, would automatically be facing felony charges no matter how minute the actual crime was. It's easy to see which option both agreed too. Therefore it is my recommendation that if Penelope is ever found to be theiving - even if it's just someone's toothpick - she be charged with a felony offense and either have her hand broken or taken.? She was thoroughly warned against doing what she did tonight ever again and knows this is the punishment she potentially faces the next time. Isaacs, on the same hand, should be charged under a felony account for assault should he ever be engaging himself in pre-emptive assault or excessive use of force in defense of himself or his property.? He, as well, has been thoroughly warned against use of this tactic. It seemed that a lizardman and a winged person had gotten in a fight. By the time I had arrived, the fight was over, but the participants and several onlookers agreed upon the details. The lizardman, a Goodman Tsi`laask of the Royal Ironworks, had been drinking rowdily and called a young ((description)) woman named Mohavanna a "whore" repeatedly. The woman attempted to knee Tsi`laask in the particulars, which injured her leg. Later, when the victim continued to malign her to his companion, a young ((description)) man named Nicholas became enraged and attacked the victim with his fists. The victim tossed Nicholas over his shoulder into the bar, causing a small amount of property damage. As the victim was unhurt, he showed little interest in pursuing charges, only stating that he would not be so gentle with assailants in the future. I warned him against throwing around insults, and reminded his assailants of the ancient adage: "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." Given the nature of the situation, I did not feel that further punishment was necessary. I advise caution when dealing with Nicholas in the future. The young man appears to be dangerous in a fight, but he put forward the attitude of an imbecile when I was scolding him. Given his apparent mortal fear of authority, quick temper, and limited mental faculties, I believe that he may be at risk of suddenly becoming violent with a guardsperson.
