On [03/20/2010] I was summoned from watch over the BlkDragon district to that of the Wharf to assist in an investigation of what initially appeared to be a fire at a warehouse.

There appeared to be approximately 5 bodies, all fatalities, that were recovered from the remains of the warehouse.  The sheer number of bodies prompted a closer look and I had the bodies transported back to the central Guardhouse in the BlkDragon district to be dissected and examined.  The inspection of the lungs of four out of the five revealed that the individuals were dead before the fire, as their lungs lacked the large amounts of soot expected to be found in a burn victim.

In addition to the absence of soot, a further examination revealed that there were several puncture-wounds centermass on two
bodies while the others reflected a blunt trauma to the head, as revealed by skull fractures.

A canine trained to sniff out various oxidizing agents popular with explosive-related alchemy were taken to the scene, where they hit positive on what was later considered to be some form of nitrates.  The black, smokeless powder may have played a prominent role in the quick spreading of the fire.  The rest of the materials recovered were manly determined to be fuels of various types that burned the place down to the ground.  Witnesses claimed to have seen green flames, which are very unique and was once a signature of the infamous Menxrukian terrorist responsible for several bombings and arson around Drache.  We're still trying to peg down the exact agent that caused the flames to burn green, but generally we've traced this in prior cases to the presence of copper chloride.

The owner of the warehouse has been identified as a Najjira man, but his whereabouts are an on-going effort in this investigation.  We're currently trying to track down employees of the business to figure out exactly what was being stockpiles and kept there.

Families of what are now being considered homicides could not provide any information about the disclosure of odd circumstances or women.  At this point we're looking heavily into the reports that several women approached the guards prior to the fire.  The presence of poison has been reasonably ruled out, as the other injuries appear to be the cause of death.

Members of the Royal Guard in the Wharf district are highly encouraged to be cognizant of any individuals that bear burn marks, as the arsonists may have been injured in the course of their crime.  These individiuals are to be approached with caution and questioned about their whereabouts on [03/20/2010].  Those that appear suspect should be detained for further questioning.

Signed,
~Idelle Sarault, Arms-Lieutenant of the BlkDragon district
