Contained within is the signed and sealed statement of one Tia Mestin, bouncer of the Black Dragon Inn, in regards to the execution of two undead:
Sir or Madam:
Strange, how often I find myself writing these. On this evening, the 31st day of Morning Star, I was taking my lunch in the kitchen, when the sound of a scuffle brought me out, in time to hear Arms Recruit Sarault order the two men to halt. One, I could readily identify as Kip Leonhart, whom I had exchanged words with the night before, the other (Heldenbrand) is not known to me. I listened as the unidentified man informed Arms Recruit Sarault that they were engaged in a duel, and she informed him, that duels were to be removed from public places, to prevent property damage, and the harm of bystanders. He then informed her that Kip was an admitted demon. I pointed out that it would be better to remove the confrontation to the outside, to prevent damage to the inn, or harm to the other patrons. Sadly, my voice went unheeded in that matter, and I fear by the time things were over, the staff were left with quite a mess to clean up.
During the conversation that unsued, Kip first admitted to being a demon saying that he was of the first and original demons, but that would not be counted as 'demonic'. Then claiming that he died, and returned. Then, protesting being a demon, he used the word Vampyre, and stated that he was a 'guardian of flesh'. His two companions, a woman who I know for certain was a vampire, and a man (Alix_Darkheart) began to move towards the confrontation. I warned them back, but they did not listen. Events led to Cytheria stepping in front of Kip, and bending to whisper something to him. Arms Recruit Sarault jerked the woman away and was preparing to place her under arrest for obstruction of justice, when the vampire woman called shadow to mask her escape. I struck a lucky blow, because, let's face it, calling darkness and shadow to you, in a well lit inn, is like creating a ball of light around you in the middle of a dark night. I took her legs out, and then tried to restrain her,
which ended in us tusseling on the floor before the Arms Recruit was finally able to restrain the woman. During this tussel, another man, Diemlocutus, hit her with a concentrated beam of sunlight projected from his staff. The other man who was aiding the vampires then stepped into the beam to try to sheild Cytheria, and proceeded to try to take the staff from the hands of Diemlocutus. I ordered him from the inn on pains of arrest, and he left without arguement.
Kip was dispatched, his body claimed by a dark mist, and Cytheria was dispatched by Diemlocutus. I will point out that on past nights, I have ordered Cytheria from the inn, based on her vampirism, because it was beginning to cause unease among the patrons. On the night of the 30th of this same month, I entered, after having been attacked by another vampire while tending to my horse in the stables, and confronted Cytheria. Kip, proceeded to make threatening tones to me, suggesting that if I did not join them at their table, he might try to harm me. Both had been warned that their presence would be tolerated only so long as they did not cause undue trouble within the inn itself. And Cytheria herself had been informed of the law multiple times, and only persisted in telling me that she liked it here and would not be leaving because of prejudice against her 'kind'. I also observed Kip and Cytheria referring to themselves as "persons of darkness".
Based on this information, I can say that Arms Recruit Sarault acted appropriately, and that the persons of the man who dispatched Kip, and Diemlocutus should not be treated with any sort of suspicion.
Where you ride, may the Horse Lords ride with you,
~Tia Esvanti Mestin
