Though I still support the thesis that such issues should be resolved
ICly, here is a little something of a suggestion I can offer. For better
suggestions, one would need to carefuly review the records of all guard
personnel. As of now, I am making assessment based solely on reports
filed and actual obesrvation, the latter being highly inefficacious, due
to the role time difference between the observer and the guard's player
plays. Enough blabber. Now for the actual suggestions:
First, on the issue of broken chain of command(missing comissioned
officers). Though perhaps this issue is best handled by the Captain and
Lord Protector ICly...
The magical creation of PCs to fill the role is possibly the worst
solution to this, IMVHO. Instead, existing guard PCs should be advanced
in rank. This could be made upon the appointing of the new Lord
Protector, whoever he may be. I would suggest the following individuals
for advancement:
1.Arms-Lieutenant Zesstra Riknueth to Arms-Commander. I haven't seen
much involvement on the side of this PC since the Vloress Affair though.
2.An Arms-Seargeant to an Arms-Lieutenant. Quetzocal or Makaiki, possibly.
3.Arms-Corporal to Arms-Seargeant. Possibly Thorn Brightblade.
4.Armsman to Arms-Corporal, Spellcaster to Spell-Corporal.
5.Four recruits to regualr guards. Among those, recruits Tejened gathai
and Merin Bithsbane have shown remarkable eagerness and devotion.
Ceremonial decorations - people enjoy recognition, flashyness and fame.
Medals and further decorations can make for a good incentive if played
out right.
So far for suggestions for now...
